Howard Stern goes on a rant after being called woke: 'I am woke, motherf***er, and I love it!'

Radio talk show host Howard Stern said that he considered being called "woke" a compliment in a rant against Republican President Donald Trump.

“I hear that a lot, that I’m not good anymore because I’m woke. By the way, I kind of take that as a compliment, that I’m woke,” said Stern on his SiriusXM show Monday. He was responding to a YouTube personality criticizing his recent political opinions.

The word had originally been used by black activists who used it to describe people who believe in systemic racism against blacks and other minorities. More recently, conservatives have used the word as an epithet against people who support far-left, extreme ideologies of any kind.

Stern connected the term with being against former President Donald Trump and being in favor of COVID-19 vaccines.

“To me, the opposite of woke is being asleep,” he continued. “And if woke means I can’t get behind Trump, which is what I think it means, or that I support people who want to be transgender, or I’m for the vaccine — dude, call me woke as you f***ing want!"

He went on to say that he was happy to get the latest booster for the vaccine, and he mocked critics who believe the vaccine was a secret program to murder people or microchip them.

“I am woke, motherf***er, and I love it! I want to be awake. I want to read legitimate news sources. Here’s how woke I am: I believe the election was not rigged,” he added.

“So, I am woke, man," he concluded. "I think that’s a compliment.”

In 2020, Stern said he was "all in" for then-candidate Joe Biden and told Trump supporters to drink bleach and die. He later opined that former "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart would win the 2024 presidential election if he ran.
