Louisiana woman stabs grandfather in the face for asking her to take a shower, police say

A Louisiana woman has been arrested for stabbing her grandfather in the face after he asked her to take a shower, according to local police.

On Tuesday, 22-year-old Carrington Harris reportedly got into an argument with her grandparents at a residence in Keithville, Louisiana. Police say that Harris got into a confrontation with her grandparents over her hygiene habits.

Authorities claim that Harris flew into a rage after her grandfather asked her to take a shower. During the tense exchange, Harris allegedly began damaging property inside the home and switched off power to the house from outside.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a statement, "Detectives say while the couple was trying to restrain Harris, she escaped and retrieved a knife from the kitchen, using it to stab her grandfather. Harris then ran from the house and hid in the woods."

Harris reportedly stabbed her grandfather in the face over the argument for her to shower. The wounded grandfather was rushed to the Willis-Knighton South Medical Center by Caddo Parish Fire District 6. Police did not divulge the condition of the man allegedly attacked by his granddaughter.

Harris reportedly fled into a nearby wooded area. A few hours later, police located Harris hiding behind a nearby house.

Harris was arrested and charged with one count of domestic abuse battery and another charge of domestic abuse battery with a dangerous weapon. She was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. No bond has yet to be set in her case. Police did not say whether Harris has previous criminal convictions.

The investigation into the reported stabbing stemming from taking a shower is ongoing by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office.
