Trump says he will turn himself in to Atlanta jail on Thursday: 'Can you believe it?'

Former President Donald Trump said on social media that he will turn himself in to Fulton County Jail on Thursday over charges filed by District Attorney Fani Willis.

Trump posted the statement to his official account on the Truth Social social media platform.

"Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime DISASTERS in American History," wrote Trump.

"In my case, the trip to Atlanta is not for 'Murder,' but for making a PERFECT PHONE CALL!" he added. "She campaigned, and is continuing to campaign, and raise money on, this WITCH HUNT. This is in strict coordination with Crooked Joe Biden’s DOJ. It is all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE!"

Trump is accused of participating in a "conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump," according to the indictment filed on Aug. 14.

The former president will be arraigned at the jail along with former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani and 17 other co-defendants in the case. Earlier on Monday, his attorneys agreed to a $200,000 bond in the case.

Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat previously said that the former president would take a "mug shot" as part of the arrest process.

"Unless someone tells me differently, we are following ... our normal practices, so it doesn’t matter your status, we have a mug shot ready for you," Labat said at the time.

The charges in Georgia are the fourth set of indictments against Trump. He's also facing federal charges related to the alleged effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election, federal charges related to classified documents allegedly found in his possession, and a New York state case related to hush money allegedly paid to Stormy Daniels.

He is facing 91 total charges between all four cases.

Trump's arrest will be conducted a day after the first Republican primary debate. He has already said he won't be participating in the debate despite being the frontrunner.
