Wild video shows man coming within feet of death as airborne car crashes into Arizona salon: 'I had an angel on my side'

An Arizona man came within a few feet of being crushed by a runaway car that went airborne before slamming into a salon.

Viral video shows the moment that an elderly woman lost control of her gold Lexus sedan in a parking lot of a shopping center in Chandler, Arizona. The vehicle jumped the curb, went airborne, and slammed into the front of Beastly Beauty Waxing.

At that time, a man was sitting in the front of the salon as the car flew into the front of the store. While on the couch in the lobby, the man came within feet of being plowed by the out-of-control vehicle.

Surveillance video also shows the back of the building quaking from the impact of the car crash, causing shelves on the wall to collapse. A man was getting a haircut when the car accident happened, and the hairdresser was in utter shock.

Hairdresser Ashley Upton told AZ Family of the crash that occurred around 1 p.m. on Saturday, "Hearing that loud noise, you don’t know where it’s coming from."

Upton said of the man who came a few feet from death, "I can't even imagine the fear that was going on in their minds at that moment."

The Chandler Police Department said an elderly woman was driving the vehicle when she lost control of the car. Authorities do not believe the driver was impaired during the car crash.

The Lexus also hit another car in the parking lot before colliding with the beauty salon. The owner of the vehicle initially believed it was a hit-and-run incident until he witnessed the Lexus fly into the building.

Police said the woman suffered a minor leg injury from the car accident.

No one else was injured in the car crash, according to police.

Upton said, "I honestly think I had an angel on my side today because if it was another foot to the left, I could’ve been severely hurt. Other people could’ve been severely hurt. I’m just so thankful that everything happened the way it did and no one is severely injured."
