Don Imus: Trump needs ‘to get himself together’

President Donald Trump set off his latest shockwave with a pair of bizarre tweets about “Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. On Thursday morning, he tweeted: “I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don’t watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came.. …to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!”

Imus was blunt in his criticism of Trump on Friday’s show: “He’s a coward and he’s a punk.”

The radio host wasn’t shy about letting Trump have it, noting that he was disappointed and making his own jokes about plastic surgery at Trump’s expense. “I thought he’d be a lot better president than he’s been so far,” Imus said.

Glenn Beck asked if the country will be able to come together during such a divided time under a leader like Trump. “How do we stop this nonsense?” he wondered.

Imus didn’t have a great answer – probably because Trump can’t seem to be stopped from tweeting.

“He’s got to get himself together,” he said. “Or they’ll get rid of him.”
