Gingrich: Trump should be 'more aggressive in going after leaks

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said on Fox News Business of this week's anonymous source leaks to the Washington Post and New York Times "I do believe we need a serious investigation. I do believe this administration needs to be more aggressive... in going after leaks."

Today on "The Chris Salcedo Show," Chris Salcedo agreed that accusations against President Donald Trump by the political left are misplaced. He believes that those who leaked classified information to newspapers are the real criminals.

Gingrich continued: "You now have a news media that's totally out of control, and that thinks it's more important than the President of the United States and thinks it's more important than the Constitution."

"Speculation and innuendo are off the charts," Chris said, agreeing with the former speaker's assessment of press coverage of the Trump administration.

Gingrich, who has been vocal in defense of the current administration, continued that it might be nice to give the president and Press Secretary Sean Spicer a break from the press corps, referencing a tweet Trump made that suggested ending all press briefings.

Chris acknowledged that Trump sometimes has messaging problems and should exercise some discipline on Twitter.
