Obama criticizes Senate health care bill for being a ‘transfer of wealth’?

Former President Barack Obama took to Facebook yesterday to criticize the draft of the Senate health care bill that is meant to revise his Affordable Care Act. He stated the bill is a “transfer of wealth” from the middle class and poor to the rich.

He also said, “If Republicans could put together a plan that is demonstrably better than the improvements we made to our health care system, that covers as many people at less cost, I would gladly and publicly support it.”

He does not appear to believe this current plan meets those goals, and he is not alone. Four Republican senators also believe it does not lower costs.

Chris Salcedo commented on the remarkable tendency of the former president to comment on the policies and doings of a new administration on today’s “Chris Salcedo Show,”. He cited the unwritten tradition other former presidents have upheld: respecting the office of the new president and refraining from comment.

Chris wanted Obama to keep talking, however, on a political level, saying to him, “Make sure everybody knows and understands that you still run the Democrat party.” He believes it rallies conservatives to keep fighting his party’s agenda.
