Founding member of the alt-right’s Breitbart News and White House chief strategist Steve Bannon is outlining a plan to raise taxes on individuals who earn more than $5 million a year.
Bannon’s latest proposed rate will raise taxes on those who earn $5 million and above from 39.6 percent to 44 percent. At least 43,000 individuals who filed taxes in 2014 earned an income of at least $5 million, according to the IRS. The proposed tax hike will help make up for middle-class tax cuts.
Today on “Pat & Stu” the guys questioned whether this is a truly conservative and principled move.
“Not only should it be lower than it is now for everybody, we should also pay the same rate,” said host Pat Gray. “Not this progressive communist ‘the more you make the more you pay’ thing.”
“It’s not a lot of people that are earning $5 million a year,” said host Stu Burguiere. “And that’s why, strategically, it’s smart.”
