Chris Christie has announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidency, and Donald Trump has wasted no time turning it into a meme.
In the video, Christie is announcing his candidacy to an audience.
“Are we gonna be small, or are we gonna be big?” Christie asks.
Of course, the video is not just Christie standing in front of an audience.
The video has been altered to show Christie standing behind a buffet with a plate full of breakfast food. He sways back and forth with the food in his hand, looking out at the audience from behind a giant neon sign that says “Buffet.”
“So, this hasn’t been altered in any way,” Keith Malinak of "Pat Gray Unleashed" jokes.
While some wonder if it’s right for a presidential candidate to fat-shame another presidential candidate, Pat Gray sees the humor in it.
“That’s why people love him, man,” Gray says.
“Exactly,” Malinak agrees, “because he says or posts what we’re thinking.”
“If we could just have a sense of humor in this country for a minute, is it possible?” Gray asks.
Christie saw the video and did not receive it with a sense of humor, going on CNN to discuss the insulting video with Jake Tapper.
“When I saw it, Jake, it just renewed in my own mind what a child he is. He’s a baby. Whenever you want to criticize him, in any way, that’s the way he responds,” Christie began.
“And you and I are both lucky enough to be parents, and if we had a child who conducted themselves like that, we’d send them to their room. Not to the White House.”
