It looks like Democratic Texas gubernatorial candidate Robert "Beto" O'Rourke has flipped his position on AR-15s once again, according to a Fox News report.
Beto the political chameleon has changed his position on gun control repeatedly over the course of his three major political bids since 2018. Here's a quick recap:
- In 2018, while running against Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, Beto parroted the condescending Democratic trope about who is or isn't 'coming for your guns.' "We support the Second Amendment, if you own a gun, keep that gun. No one wants to take it away from you, at least I don’t," said Beto in April 2018.
- As a Democratic presidential candidate in 2019, Beto famously announced, "Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47. We’re not going to allow it to be used against our fellow Americans any more."
- Beto changed his stance yet again while running against Texas Republican incumbent Gov. Greg Abbott. "I’m not interested in taking anything from anyone," he told reporters in February. "What I want to make sure that we do is defend the Second Amendment. I want to make sure that we protect our fellow Texans far better than we’re doing right now."
- However, a stealthy change to the Democratic candidate's campaign website suggests he has flip-flopped on the issue yet again. According to Internet Archive Wayback Machine, a sentence on the campaign website's Gun Safety page was quietly changed from "I strongly believe that we need to reduce the number of AR-15’s and AK-47’s on our streets" to "I don’t believe any civilian should own an AR-15 or AK-47."
Of course, this is the same "human trash" who shamelessly tried to use the tragic Uvalde, Texas, elementary school shooting to revive his failing gubernatorial campaign against Abbott, in what even CBS News described as a blatantly staged event.
On “The Rubin Report,” BlazeTV host Dave Rubin discussed Beto's appalling publicity stunt at Gov. Abbott's press conference about the horrible atrocity at Robb Elementary School.
