CNN pundit Symone Sanders blames 'toxic masculinity' for the murder of Mollie Tibbetts

CNN contributor Symone Sanders blamed "toxic masculinity" for the death of Iowa college student Mollie Tibbetts on Twitter yesterday and was lambasted by conservatives for doing so.

Tibbetts, who went missing July 18, was allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant suspect and her body was found on Tuesday.

Sanders, who is the former spokeswoman for Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign, issued the tweet yesterday in which she attributed Tibbetts' murder to "toxic masculinity."

“Mollie Tibbetts was murdered b/c she told a man to leave her alone while she was jogging,” Sanders tweeted. “Her murderer happens to be undocumented. This isn’t about border security. This is about toxic masculinity. Mollie Tibbetts lost her life b/c a man couldn’t take her saying no. Full stop.”

On Thursday, Doc Thompson and Kris Cruz discussed her tweets and why the idea of "toxic masculinity" isn't a viable explanation for Tibbetts' murder.
