Colorado police had to warn people to keep their kids away from bears – you already know why

A woman in Colorado reportedly walked up to bears while carrying her child because she wanted to get a selfie.

Police in Aspen, Colorado warned people to stop agitating bears by getting too close to them after a video surfaced online showing people following a mother bear and her cubs. "People were still walking right up to her, even when it was clear she was agitated and growling as people got close,” police said.

The mother bear was actually separated from her cubs because of the group of onlookers but fortunately didn’t attack.

Selfies can be deadly. A study found last year that 73 people died taking selfies in the first eight months of 2016.

Keith Malinak had the bizarre story as part of the day’s headlines on Monday’s “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson.”
