Glenn Beck calls out the postmodern 'fluid identity' farce: 'I am a purple unicorn

On Wednesday's episode of the "Glenn" show, Glenn Beck discussed the postmodern ideology of relativism — the belief that there is no reality because everything is subject to interpretation based on feelings.

Take for example, the postmodern interpretation of identity. "If a person feels that their identity differs from what the so-called objective world determines, then that person has the final say.  A person's interpretation of reality, is reality," Glenn explained.

"I can seriously go to any campus in America and say 'I am a purple unicorn.' And the people, with a straight face, would accept me as a purple unicorn. In other words, be what the hell you want to be ... race, gender, age, species — as long as it adds to the chaos," he said.

"Identity can be interpreted and changed in an infinite number of ways, so long as it adheres to the postmodern hierarchy of oppression in relation to its immutable defining characteristics, which cannot be changed unless they accomplish a political statement. If they do, they can be changed at will," he added.

Glenn pointed out that postmodern ideology is intentionally full of contradictions.

"This is how the college campus is able to be bigoted in the name of anti-bigotry," he said. "If you virtue signal loud enough, you can be as hateful as you like. And all gender, all race, is interpretable and equal — except for skin color and whether you are a man or a woman. This is the exact intersection of Marxism and postmodernism, it's called social justice."
