Gotcha journalism at its worst': Betsy DeVos fires back on Twitter over '60 Minutes' interview
March 13, 2018
Furious
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos claims she never watched "60 Minutes" before she agreed to do an interview with the news-magazine program and never will after Sunday night's interview.
The interview
DeVos sat down with CBS' Lesley Stahl who confronted her in the worst way about the current state of education in America.
DeVos' reaction
DeVos accused Stahl of "gotcha journalism at its worst" in front of reporters on Monday and added that it was "very unfair of her [Stahl] to ask me so many questions about education." DeVos also fired back at her critics on Twitter highlighting the parts of the interview DeVos says CBS left out.
“I had never watched ‘60 Minutes’ before, but I can tell you this, I will never watch it again,” she said. “I have better things to do with a half hour of my time.”
“She asked me one thing about schools, and then another, and another,” she continued. “If I had to answer every question she had about schools, I would have had to bone up on education for a month.”
