Sen. Ted Cruz: 'Crisis' of separating families at the border can be stopped. Here's how.
June 19, 2018
In the middle of a nationwide backlash against immigration policies that can separate families, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has proposed a streamlined solution in an upcoming bill.
Cruz's proposal would involve doubling the number of immigration judges; authorizing temporary shelters that would keep families together; mandating that children not be separated from their families unless they are being abused; and expediting the review of asylum cases so families get a yes or no within 14 days.
"I think it is a plan that actually works," Glenn said on today's show.
