Former Secretary of State John Kerry (D) and Fox News host Greg Gutfeld were the topic of a hilarious discussion on Tuesday's episode of "Pat Gray Unleashed."
Pat delivered on-point commentary and an uncanny impression of Kerry narrating his own tweets as he broke down the Twitter spat that transpired over the weekend between Kerry and Gutfeld.
On Saturday, the White House announced that, because of poor weather conditions, President Donald Trump would not attend the ceremony at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery to honor those who lost their lives battle during World War I.
Kerry took to Twitter and commented on the president's decision to skip the ceremony, asserting the opinion that the American president should not allow rain to prevent him from paying respects to those who died in battle.
“President @realDonaldTrump a no-show because of raindrops?”
“Those veterans the president didn’t bother to honor fought in the rain, in the mud, in the snow – & many died in trenches for the cause of freedom. Rain didn’t stop them & it shouldn’t have stopped an American president.”
Greg Gutfeld replied:
"U didn't stop ISIS. you sent James Taylor. Plug your knothole, Captain Driftwood."
Kerry tweeted back:
“I’m glad that all of us who served in uniform fought to defend your freedom to be a complete fool on Twitter."
The last word
Gutfeld got the last word when he posted a YouTube video clip of James Taylor's, "You've Got A Friend."
Pat's comedic genius was on full display as he poked fun at the controversy surrounding Kerry's service record. Kerry, the recipient of three Purple Hearts and many other combat medals, has faced scrutiny from his fellow soldiers, many of whom believe that he exaggerated his war record.
"Some say that every time a bell rings John Kerry gets another purple heart," Pat said. "[Bell rings] There's another purple heart. [Bell rings] And another purple heart."
Pat asserted that if he were Kerry, he would not have the nerve to tell others how they should honor veterans, especially considering the way that Kerry blatantly disrespected Vietnam veterans in his 1971 anti-war speech.
