White House Actually Responds to Claims About Alien 'Shape-Shifter' Secret Service Agent

"...this isn’t a flat denial."

Last week, conspiracy theorists were taking a look at some wacky footage from a speech made by President Barack Obama in 2012 to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference. But it wasn't the president everyone was analyzing.

It was one of the members in his secret service detail whose appearance had some calling him an alien shape-shifter, an Illuminati member or a reptilian humanoid.

Earlier this week, the White House actually responded to these wild claims in an article posted by Wired's Danger Room:

The White House dismissed the alien bodyguards as too costly in this era of budgetary austerity. “I can’t confirm the claims made in this video, but any alleged program to guard the president with aliens or robots would likely have to be scaled back or eliminated in the sequester,” Caitlin Hayden, the chief spokeswoman for the National Security Council, e-mails Danger Room. “I’d refer you to the Secret Service or Area 51 for more details.”

Even with this statement, Wired points out though that it feels "journalistically obligated to observe that this isn’t a flat denial."

Last week when the story and video were going viral, TheBlaze reported some thinking the footage might look unusual due to artifacts created from poor lighting and compressing the image.

If you missed it, check out the footage with the dramatic voiceover:
