Dan Bongino: We have the 'God-given' right to defend ourselves

Appearing on “Fox & Friends” Monday morning, former Secret Service agent and Conservative Review contributing editor Dan Bongino was interviewed about the mass shooting in a Texas church Sunday that left at least 26 people dead and 20 injured. The shooter, Devin Patrick Kelley, was apparently stopped after an armed civilian stepped in and shot him.

Bongino warned that in these situations, the murderous shooters want to kill as many people as possible, and the only way to stop them is for a good guy with a gun to end it.

“Listen, I mean, I can’t say this in strong enough terms. They are there for one thing and one thing only: body counts and carnage. You are not gonna stop them with flowery language or negotiation, that is not what they are interested in,” Bongino said.

“The only thing that is going to stop these maniacs is a good guy with a gun,” he added.

Responding to demands for gun control from Democrats, Bongino forcefully fought back in defense of the Second Amendment.

“I am not giving up, and nor is anyone else, my right to defend my daughter, my wife, and myself because some Democrat wants a donation from Michael Bloomberg,” Bongino flatly declared.

“What part of this do you not get?” he asked, speaking to Democrats. “You guys did not give us these rights. These are God-given rights good patriotic men and women have to stay alive. You know what, Brian? Not me. It’s not happening to me. I am a patriotic, law-abiding, God-fearing American. I have the right to survive an attack by a homicidal maniac. I am not surrendering my firearm and my ability to defend my wife and kids because you want a Michael Bloomberg donation. That is your problem, that is not mine!”

“This society is full of wolves, we all know that. Do not be a sheep and do not fall prey to these sick partisan talking points. You deserve the right to defend yourself — I’m tired of this garbage.”
