Democrats make push for single-payer official with new Medicare for All caucus
July 19, 2018
House Democrats are now explicitly promoting a single-payer health care system with the formation of the new Medicare for All Caucus.
The caucus, announced Thursday, claims at least 70 members and is co-chaired by Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., and Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., reports The Daily Beast.
Ellison is the lead sponsor of a bill to implement single-payer health care in America.
“It’s the increasing view of everyone that single-payer is inevitable,” Dan Riffle, spokesman for Ellison, told The Hill.
Well, it's official. As Obamacare's failures have become manifest, the Democratic Party is moving farther Left.
