Sources tell Fox News there will be no FBI Kavanaugh investigation

"Highly placed law enforcement sources" told Fox News Wednesday in no uncertain terms that there will be no FBI investigation into Christine Blasey Ford's sexual assault allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

The sources told Fox News on Wednesday that there were no allegations of a federal crime, therefore the bureau would not open a criminal investigation.

“This is a political issue, not a law enforcement one,” one source told Fox News.

Of course it's a political issue. The Senate Democrats' demands for an investigation as a precursor to a vote on Kavanaugh or even a Judiciary Committee hearing where the judge can face his accuser were always unreasonable. Or as another of Fox's sources put it, "totally inappropriate."

“It’s totally inappropriate for someone to demand we use law enforcement resources to investigate a 35-year-old allegation when she won't go under oath and can't remember key details including when or where it happened,” the unnamed source said.

So there you have it. Someone in the media finally asked law enforcement officials about this deplorable situation, and they said an investigation would be inappropriate.

It's time for the Democrats to put up or shut up. Either Ford has enough confidence in her allegations to be willing to testify on Monday or she doesn't. If she doesn't, Congress should proceed to a vote to confirm Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
