Vote Alert: House: Support Obama Transgender Agenda

The vote would have violated the religious liberty and freedom of association of any defense contractors and sub-contractors that failed to comply with President Obama’s executive order 13672 on gay and transsexual employees. This sort of enforced non-discrimination creates an environment where any perceived discrimination can be used as a hammer against employers (even if it doesn’t exist). The executive order would also force companies that abide by a set of religious standards to hire employees who violate those standards and beliefs in order to do any business over $10,000 with the government. The bill failed to pass the House on May 19, 2016 212-213.
