9-year-old girl takes her own life after racist bullying: 'You're black. You're ugly. You should just die'

An Alabama family is mourning the tragic loss of a 9-year-old girl who took her own life after being bullied by classmates since the beginning of the school year.

According to McKenzie Adams' family, the fourth-grader was bullied every day at U.S. Jones Elementary School. Her mother, Jasmine Adams, said McKenzie was targeted because of her friendship with a white boy whose family drove her to school in the morning.

"Part of it could have been because she rode to school with a white family. And a lot of it was race, some of the student bullies would say to her, 'Why you riding with white people? You're black. You're ugly. You should just die'," Jasmine Adams said.

McKenzie's aunt, Eddwina Harris, said her niece "was being bullied the entire school year, with words such as 'kill yourself,' 'you think you're white because you ride with that white boy,' 'you ugly,' 'black b-tch,' 'just die'."

On "The Glenn Beck Radio Program" Wednesday, Glenn reacted to the heartbreaking story.

"The bullying came from her friendship with another little boy, and they weren't the same color," he said. "This was in Alabama, and you can't be friends with a little boy that's not the same color in Alabama, apparently."

"If the roles were reversed, I'm sure people would try to exploit this story and it would be everywhere," Glenn continued. "And the little boy would be remembered as a hero."

"This little girl is a hero ... I want you to remember the name McKenzie Adams," he added .
