"Sickening!"
In a column for WorldNetDaily.com, conservative comedian Victoria Jackson had a provocative reaction to the latest episode of Glee, the hit TV show about high school outcasts who find social solace singing and dancing together.
The show is peppered with gay themes--in last week's episode, for instance, two gay characters exchanged a long-awaited kiss.
Jackson writes:
Did you see "Glee" this week? Sickening! And, besides shoving the gay thing down our throats, they made a mockery of Christians – again! I wonder what their agenda is? Hey, producers of "Glee" – what's your agenda? One-way tolerance?
Liberal websites like the Huffington Post are calling Jackson's remarks a "homophobic rant"--which is perhaps an overstatement. Her comments could be interpreted as criticism of Glee's overt political themes, which are far left and politically correct.
The HuffPo is also denouncing what it calls her "anti-Muslim and Arab diatribe" from the same column. Her offending paragraph appears below:
This new al-Qaida magazine for women has beauty tips and suicide-bomber tips! Gimme a break! That is as ridiculous as two men kissing on the mouth! And I don't care what is politically correct. Everyone knows that two men on a wedding cake is a comedy skit, not an "alternate lifestyle"! There I said it! Ridiculous!
Jackson is an active member of the tea party.
