New business: selling fake girlfriends on Facebook

Are you a dude suffering from hopelessly single syndrome? Perhaps Cloud Girlfriend can help.

The online phenomenon of Facebook has redefined human relationship in terms of expanding the traditional means of contact, but a new company is looking to push the envelope even further by catering to men hoping to impress their shallow friends by showing off their new hot "girlfriend."

According to Business Insider, the Cloud Girlfriend start-up will offer a automated service that leaves messages on your Facebook wall to make people think you have a significant other. Maybe some of our male readers can help me better understand why or how this could possibly be worth paying money for.

In the meantime, business is booming.  The new company's website reports such "high demand," they're struggling to keep up.

I just have to ask:  Seriously, fellas?
