"We knew we were putting ourselves out there."
This morning, an ABC News cameraman caught former President Bill Clinton and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-W) chatting candidly. The two met backstage at the Pete Peterson Foundation forum (a national debt conference). Both politicians were extremely open and friendly.
While Clinton shared his enthusiasm over his party's NY-26 victory, he said, "I hope Democrats don't use this as an excuse to do nothing." The conversation ended with Clinton offering to speak further with Ryan via telephone. Watch for yourself:
