Australian TV reporter Stephen McDonnell recently went to Beijing to report on the underground church booming in China. But he wasn't in the country long before he started noticing something: he was being followed. He suspected that his new friends who followed him everywhere were government agents that had uncovered his plans by tapping his phone and reading his e-mails.
And the cadre of suspected agents wasn't shy about its presence. They would spy on him behind trees:

And were even waiting for him in his hotel lobby every morning:
So, being a journalist, he decided to confront them. That's when, as Business Insider says, "all hell breaks loose:"
