Nancy Pelosi Says She's 'Deeply Disappointed' in Weiner, Calls for Ethics Investigation

"I am calling for an Ethics Committee investigation..."

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) wasted no time in addressing Rep. Anthony Weiner's explosive scandal. In a statement released earlier this evening, Pelosi joined Rep. Steve Israel in calling for an investigation over the sexually-explicit photographs and conversations the congressman had with at least six women over the past three years. According to Politico, Pelosi wrote:

I am deeply disappointed and saddened about this situation; for Anthony’s wife, Huma, his family, his staff and his constituents

I am calling for an Ethics Committee investigation to determine whether any official resources were used or any other violation of House rules occurred.

So far no one from the Democrats' side has asked Weiner to step down. But, this formal announcement that an investigation will be launched is certainly not good news for the embattled lawmaker.
