"Obama is back in campaign mode already?"
The White House has consistently claimed that President Obama's three-day bus tour is an official event, not a campaign one. That's been hard to defend considering the president's speeches during the tour stops have sounded an awful lot like stump speeches. And now even Jon Stewart is calling out the White House for trying to hide the tour's true colors.
In a three-and-a-half minute clip, Stewart pointed out -- using video of Obama -- why it's absurd to claim that tour isn't campaign-related. From the red, white, and blue buntings donning the stage at one stop, to pandering to the crowd, to testing out new campaign material, Stewart believes the tour's goals were obvious.
"Obama is back in campaign mode already?" Stewart asked in disbelief, before mockingly suggesting, "I’m sure the President just had some frequent Greyhound miles to spare."
