Inside Gaddafi Compound: Gay Porn, Spinning Teacups, Golden Mermaid Sofa...Condoleezza Rice

The rebels were speechless by what they found.

One can only imagine the house of horrors that is Muammar Gaddafi's personal compound. And, once rebels ransacked the beleaguered despot's opulent abode, horrors, were indeed found. Among the eclectic, and, disturbing list of the Gaddafi family's favorite things, was, oddly, a picture album of former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, gay porn entitled "Boyz Tracks," exotic cars, a golden mermaid sofa, a monogrammed director's chair, and a full amusement park complete with "spinning teacups."

Rebels were reportedly completely taken aback by what they found. Adelaide Now reports:

[O]ne man could only stare in disbelief at this theme park within a warzone. He snorted: “Libyan children have no childhood, their lives are destroyed by Gaddafi. But his children, his family, have everything.”

As if all this weren’t enough, Col Gaddafi had also used some of the estimated $470 billion he has plundered from the country to build a zoo, stocked with animals supplied by fellow African despots.

“I can’t even believe what I am seeing,” said another Tripoli resident, Muftah Shubri.

According to the Washington Post, nearly 200 people stormed Gaddafi's son, al-Saadi Gaddafi's, villa. One looter, Seifallah Gneidi said he took a bottle of gin, a toothbrush with a gilded handle and a pair of Diesel jeans from al-Saadi. “We wanted to have the stuff that he had,” Gneidi said, who was reportedly armed with a Kalashnikov.

Gneidi qualified that the rebels do not condone looting of private property, only symbols of Gaddafi and his reign of tyranny.

The Post added:

Gneidi said al-Saadi had four cars — a BMW, an Audi, a white Lamborghini and a Toyota — that were all driven off during the ransacking. His claim about the fate of the cars could not be verified. A large painting of a yellow Lamborghini decorated the back wall of his covered parking area.

In an office area in the villa, reporters saw large piles of catalogues for yachts and cars. A catalog by the firm Benetti had a yellow handwritten post-it note attached listing the price for a 30-meter-long yacht as 7 million euros. A DVD with gay porn entitled “Boyz Tracks” slipped out of the stack of documents.

Business cards were scattered on the floor for a firm called “Natural Selection” that listed al-Saadi as partner and executive producer with an address on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. The looters left behind a black cloth, apparently the back of a “director’s chair,” that read, in green: “Executive Producer al-Saadi Gadhafi.”

Meanwhile, Gaddafi's daughter, Aisha, lost some of her more "normal" valuables during the looting:

A large play room was strewn with toys, party hats and streamers were in a pile in an entrance hall, and her library contained a number of children’s books.

Among Aisha’s DVDs were action and mystery films, but also one on getting back in shape after childbirth.

Like others in the Gadhafi family, she had expensive tastes — Bohemian crystal glasses and a brown Dolce & Gabana leather jacket for one of her children...

It seems those mad with power do have the strangest taste.
