Fox host Brian Kilmeade fired back, stating he "totally disagrees" with the assertion.
During an appearance on Brian Kilmeade's radio program Tuesday, GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum accused the Fox network of "shilling" for his rival, Mitt Romney.
"The man has had a ten-to-one money advantage," Santorum said of Romney on the show.
"He's had all the organizational advantage. He has Fox News shilling for him every day -- no offense, Brian, but I see it -- and yet, he can't seal the deal because he just doesn't have the goods to be able to motivate the Republican base and win this election."
Kilmeade, however, defended his network, qualifying that Romney's campaign responds to interview requests promptly and that he had tried to book Santorum on his show for no less than three and a half months, to no avail.
"We’ve been requesting you [Santorum] on this show for about three and a half months, minimum, and we’ve gotten nothing but, ‘yeah, we’ll see,’” Kilmeade fired back.
"I've just got to take you on Fox News shilling for Mitt Romney, 24 hours a day, I totally disagree with that. You can feel the way you want, I'm just telling you there's no way I agree with that. And you've been on as much as anyone."
