Real-Life 'Hangover'? Three Drunk Men Break Into Sea World, Steal Penguin

Three British men on vacation in Australia are accused of drunkenly breaking into a SeaWorld marine park, stripping down to their underwear for a swim with the dolphins and then making off with a penguin.

According to the Daily Mail, the three only pieced together what happened when they found the small penguin, "Dirk," in their rented apartment the next morning amid their hangover haze.

"Still a bit fuzzy about the whole thing but on behalf of the three of us we are very sorry and it was just a prank which went way too far," said one of the men, giving his name as Rhys Jones.

Police say the men -- ages 18, 20 and 21 -- ditched Dirk at a lagoon, where he was later found "scared and exhausted," New Zealand's 3 News reported.

"We are all three of us sorry to SeaWorld and the time searching for Dirk,” Jones said.

They said they never meant the animal any harm, releasing a video showing him inside their apartment to prove it.

"Hello Mr. Penguin," one of the men is heard saying. "I can't believe I have a penguin in my apartment right now."

The three are due in court May 2 and face charges of trespassing, stealing and unlawfully keeping a protected animal.
