Watch Chris Christie Call a Reporter an 'Idiot' During a Press Conference

"Are you stupid?"

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie lived up to his brash reputation once more on Saturday, calling a reporter an "idiot" for asking an off-topic question during a press conference.

The New Jersey Star-Ledger reported:

Although reporters were told that Christie would only be answering questions about Friday's collapse of three large water pipes at NJ American Water’s treatment plant at Swimming River Reservoir and the subsequent boil water alert in 22 towns, one journalist tried to ask about the special joint session of the Legislature that the governor has called for Monday.

When the reporter said, "Governor, on Monday are you going to be addressing the legislature," Christie interrupted and replied, "Did I say on topic? Are you stupid? On topic, on topic. Next question."

The same reporter then said "Yes" and "No, I'm not stupid" to Christie's questions and then began to ask, "How many days will you have them come back" before he was again cut off by the governor.

Christie said, "Thank you all very much and I'm sorry for the idiot over there. Take care." before walking away.

The Republican governor called a former Navy SEAL an "idiot" and told him to "shut up" during a town hall back in March, later saying he had "no regrets at all" about the exchange.
