The Poignant Final Words From the Popular 24-Year-Old With Severe Cerebral Palsy: 'Love Each Other'

David Rose has more than 15,700 followers on Twitter. As a deaf quadriplegic with severe athetoid cerebral palsy, it is a medium that makes it easier for him to communicate with the world at large.

Last week though, Rose, whose Twitter handle is @daveonwheels, issued his final tweets after succumbing to complications of pneumonia.

Rose, according to his blog, lived in a residential home for disabled people close to Disneyland in California, which it states he visited as frequently as possible. Communicating with technology that tracks his eye movement, Rose was active on Facebook and Twitter. His blog also states he used the tech to also "complain about the food where he lives," causing his sister to take pity on him and take him on a Starbucks jaunt.

On his Facebook page, Rose writes:

Please never feel sorry for me, I am happy with life and have some great friends and family. I am happy being deaf I have never heard sound and do not know what it is, so it does not matter. If given the choice of hearing I would turn it down and stay deaf. I do not even consider myself deaf, I am just "visually oriented," lol. I see everything I need to instead of hear it.

Rose's blog, although penned entirely by himself, is officially maintained by his sister Nicole. On his blog she notes that what is posted is written by Rose and is posted unedited by her.

In his last blog post, the 24-year-old wrote that he had the kind of pneumonia "where you probably [do not] go home." This was indeed the case as his sister updated his Twitter saying he was "whisked away by angels" at 5:33 p.m. Wednesday. This post was written by Rose a few days before his sister published it, and he writes "if you read this now it because i am not around anymore so there are people i want to thank and few things want to say."

He first wonders "if there is sound in heaven." If there is, he says he is unsure if he wants it. He writes that on Earth he has been "happy to be deaf" and did not miss sound as people had not adequately described what it's like to him before. He requests people "say a message for me and maybe I will hear it."

Rose goes on to offer his love, advice and forgiveness for those close to him:

mom i love you. best mom ever! nichole you know i love you. best sister ever! thank both you for put your lives on hold so many times for me.

nichole please be happy. you will not find it in a guy or in alcohol. you find it in yourself and need learn love yourself again. you can do that without my help now. what happen to you is old news and it time for fresh new life! please do what you been wanting do for long time. you know what is that! i will be watching and make sure you do it and be happy!

dad i forgive you and i love you. thank you for come to see me.

The list goes on. It is a rather lengthy post considering Rose can only type three to four words per minute using his eye tracking technology.

Finally, Rose ends saying that he has learned that in such a short life, "what [makes] the world special are good people like all you." Without these people, it would be a "boring blue rock zipping around the sun looking for trouble."

"love each other and make each other smile," he writes. "a joke is good medicine. make sure everyone around you have a smile ok? always do what is right. always! but forgive yourself if you forget sometimes."
