Female Republican Rep. Challenges Obama to Skeet Shooting Contest: 'I Bet I'll Beat Him

"If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this?"

President Obama said in a recent interview that he goes skeet shooting "all the time," but not everyone is buying into his claim. Case-in-point: CNN's Erin Burnett, who noted (and some might argue -- entertained) the extreme skepticism surrounding the president's claim during Monday night's broadcast. While critics wonder whether he embellished or lied in an effort to appeal to gun lovers amid a tense, national firearms debate, others are taking the president at his word.

Regardless, in a comical development, Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) decided to challenge Obama to a skeet shooting contest during her appearance on "Erin Burnett OutFront."

"If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos?," she asked during a CNN segment with Burnett. "Why has he not referenced it at any point in time as we have had this gun debate that is ongoing?"

Following up on the notion that the truth behind the matter is important to discern, Blackburn challenged Obama to a contest -- one that would allow him to put his full marksmanship credentials on display.

"I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I’ll go skeet shooting with him," she continued. "I bet I'll beat him."
