"Kill the illuminati!"
Early on Monday, it became apparent that the Facebook page of General Colin Powell had been hacked.
Although by midday the social media profile of four-star Army General and former secretary of state was restored, messages of what the hacker had posted still circulated on other websites.
Here's one from New York Magazine's Daily Intelligencer:

Powell posted on Facebook a couple hours later that he had been working with the site to restore the integrity of his page. He apologized for the offensive posts that went up before the situation could be fixed.

Powell's social media hack comes just after the Twitter accounts of Burger King and Jeep were compromised last month by hackers.
