NFL Player's 'Sad' -- Yet Funny -- Retirement Announcement

"You told me some place ritzy!  You told me the Whit Castel...This is White Castle!"

Nine-year NFL veteran Anthony Adams recently announced his retirement in a self-produced video that Yahoo! is calling "sad-yet-hysterical."

It begins like a Blockbuster movie, highlighting Adams' awards to the tune of inspiring yet ominous music.

"After 9 years in the NFL...Playing in San Francisco and Chicago...What will he do next?" text across the screen reads, interspersed with photos from Adams' glory days and clips of him crying in the shower.

Soon we see Adams in a white t-shirt at a desk calling every news agency he can think of, from TNT to ESPN Deportes.

"I got an announcement...You can get all the details from my agent.  He told me it was going to be a real ritzy spot, real nice.  You might want to break out a tux for this..." he tells the networks.

But then Adams pulls up to the venue, finding the fast food chain...White Castle.

"Are you kidding me?  You told me some place ritzy!  You told me the Whit Castel," he tells his agent.  "This is White Castle!"

Little harm done in the end, though, since no one cared enough to show up.  The comical video ends with Adams, dressed in a suit, giving a speech to his family and a surprised onlooker before grabbing some fries and filling out a job application.

It's worth watching the entire video:
