Prominent Major League Baseball Player Says Obama's Coming for Your Guns

Video

"...it's just a little bit insane for me, man."

Many have expressed strong concerns over the Obama administration’s new gun control initiatives. Add to that list Major League Baseball pitcher Jonathan Papelbon.

"Today's day and age, has gotten so crazy,” said Papelbon in a Tuesday interview with CSN Philadelphia. “Shoot man, Obama wants to take our guns from us and everything. You got all this stuff going on, it's just a little bit insane for me, man. I'm not sure how to take it.”

The Philadelphia Phillies pitcher added that he has developed a fear of walking through large crowds: "We walked through the crowd here on opening day and in Boston, we came down through the bleachers one opening day. I don't feel comfortable doing that”:

Papelbon, who rose to prominence as a closer for the Boston Red Sox, used to live in an apartment complex near where one of the bombs went off during Monday’s terrorist attacks.

He characterized the entire ordeal as “surreal.”

“Families are ruined, lives are ruined. For what? It’s just sad,” he said during a separate interview on Monday.
