Is anyone complaining about Page 3 pix a reader.Enough of this elitist nonsense!
— Rupert Murdoch(@rupertmurdoch) May 2, 2013
What's "Page 3"?
Page 3 is literally the third page in The Sun, the UK's most circulated newspaper owned by News Corp., Rupert Murdoch's media empire. For nearly half a century, each issue of The Sun has published a photo on that page of a topless female model.
In summer 2012, the "No More Page 3" campaign was started to get The Sun to discontinue the feature. Reacting to one follower on Twitter who called the photos "so last century," Murdoch said, "page three so last century! You maybe right, don't know but considering. Perhaps halfway house with glamorous fashionistas.”
