Over the weekend, three fishermen off the coast of New Jersey came face-to-fins with a great white shark they estimated to be around 16 feet long. The local NBC affiliate covered the story of the big fish that circled their 22-foot boat for 10 minutes before moving on.
But there was something about this story that has sparked interest from the Internet. In fact, the story is getting posted on Facebook pages and linked to Twitter accounts -- and the social media storm has nothing to do with the giant shark, and everything to do with an article of clothing spotted on one of the fishermen.
Witness the t-shirt that's causing the clip to go viral.
The shirt is a simple design that incorporates the Obama campaign logo in the statement "Worst President Ever."
The young man sporting the "Worst President Ever" t-shirt is Rob Pompilio of New Jersey. Rob posted a link to the story on his Facebook page and people have taken notice of it - for both the massive shark that appeared in the waters off the Jersey coast and the t-shirt he was sporting. (The shirts and other merchandise with the same slogan can be found in many places online.) This reporter was sent the link by several people, including blogger Urban Infidel.
If you are interested in seeing the shark AND the t-shirt, the clip is attached here.
