You'll Never Guess Who Just Invoked 'Guns Don't Kill People, People Kill People' (Hint: 'Vogue' Isn't a Magazine in Her Universe)

"This all comes from fear and ignorance, and people not really raising their children, or not paying attention to what's going on."

The reason you might have a hard time fathoming this one is because this speaker—a pop-culture boundary-pushing pioneer if there ever was one—could never be mistaken for politically or socially conservative.

Except, apparently, in regard to guns and gun control.

Ladies and gents, it's the woman who's never had a problem expressing herself, who still knows how to draw gasps from an audience, the one and only Material Girl...

When her "Good Morning America" interview turned to the issue of Madonna drawing criticism for using gun choreography onstage on her present tour, she insisted that she'd never remove the gun-play just to appease critics:

"That would be like asking people to not have guns in action movies," Madonna replied. "I mean the thing is, guns don't kill people, people kill people. That whole first section of the show is like an action movie, and I was playing a super vixen who wanted revenge."

But what about Hollywood types who've toned down gun use out of respect for incidents such as Sandy Hook?

"Well that's not going to change the situation," Madonna replied. "This all comes from fear and ignorance, and people not really raising their children, or not paying attention to what's going on."
