TheBlaze Makes Another Exciting New Hire...

TheBlaze announced on Monday that Steve Krakauer will soon be joining the network as the vice president of digital content.  A former senior digital producer at CNN/US, Krakauer will be instrumental in growing TheBlaze's presence across all digital media, according to a press release.

Krakauer, who begins September 9th, previously oversaw the social and digital output of the CNN domestic television programs. He also managed the team that ran the network’s flagship Twitter account, @CNN.

Joel Cheatwood, President and Chief Content Officer of TheBlaze, commented: "Steve was one of the first people to truly recognize the growing relationship between digital media and traditional television and has built a remarkable track record integrating the two mediums. We are excited to have Steve join TheBlaze as we continue to be at the forefront of creating a television network designed for the 21st century."

Krakauer added: "I've long admired the independent, entrepreneurial nature of TheBlaze, and I'm excited to join CEO Chris Balfe, Joel Cheatwood and the team in expanding their place in the ever-changing media landscape. TheBlaze is at the forefront of understanding the new ways people consume news and entertainment, and being able to help shape where it's going was an opportunity I couldn't pass up."

Krakauer, who was the senior editor at Mediaite and the editor of TVNewser prior to his move to CNN, was named a "rising star" by the New York Times in 2010, and a "New Media Innovator" by New York Magazine in 2011.

TheBlaze TV, a 24/7 news, opinion and entertainment network, is available on over 25 distributors across the country, including five of the top 25 in America - DISH, Optimum TV, RCN, Service Electric and Blue Ridge. TheBlaze.com generated over 13 million unique visitors in July 2013.  In addition, Glenn Beck's Facebook page has over 2.4 million likes, his twitter handle has over 700,000 followers, and the company's newsletters go out to over 2 million subscribers per day.
