CHICAGO (AP) — University of Chicago officials say a third-year student from Pennsylvania has been found dead in his dorm room.
Chicago police found the body Saturday around 4:15 p.m. Chicago police spokesman Mike Sullivan said it appeared the student been dead for some time.
University officials say there was no evidence of foul play. The cause of death is under investigation. Officials say staff members are "making every effort" to understand the circumstances around the death.
In a Sunday email to students, university officials identified the deceased as Nicholas Brastins Barnes of Pittsburgh. He was found in his room at the International House, which is a residential center.
The Cook County medical examiner says an autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
University officials say Barnes' family is planning a funeral in Pittsburgh.
