Read the 'Hilarious' Note One Annoyed Gas Station Employee Left on the Door for His Tardy Boss

"Fire me if you must ..."

A gas station manager in Michigan walked up to the glass doors Thursday morning to relieve the third-shift employee and found the store doors locked and no employee to be found.

There was, however, a note.

"Hey boss, learn to be on time or at least communicate when you are going to be late. +1 hour with no phone call is unacceptable. As you can see, the doors are locked. I went home. Fire me if you must, but realize I walked out due to YOUR negligence," the note read.

Speaking with WXMI-TV, the BP manager in Grand Rapids, Mich., who declined to be named, said she was running 30 minutes late, sleeping through her alarm. She said she was surprised to find the note as this employee, named Joe on the note, did not call or contact any other employee before leaving the store.

Watch the news station's report:

Perhaps ironically, a help wanted sign was posted just behind Joe's note. However, the manager declined to offer further details as to Joe's employment status with the gas station, according to MLive.

Ryan Otthouse, who stopped to fill up while the gas station was unattended Thursday and found he could still do so from the pump without an employee present, snapped a photo of the note, which he told MLive he found "hilarious."
