Surveillance video taken from a Canadian home shows the chilling moments that a woman scouted out a home before appearing to break inside the residence and steal the family dog. A subsequent cellphone video then shows the owner confront the woman after tracking her down.
The surveillance video from the April 9 incident begins with a woman, whom authorities have not identified, walking up and petting the Haskett family dog, Partner, who was on a leash in the front yard.

She then leaves, as does the family, but not before taking Partner inside the house.
However, surveillance video captured by cameras placed on the property shows the woman returning several times, appearing to look for a way inside the residence.
Eventually, a man joins her at the scene and footage shows the two walking away with a dog that appears to be Partner.
After the dog went missing, the family posted photos on Facebook, asking for tips on where Partner might be. Eventually, the tips led them to one specific area, Northern Life reported.
The family went searching the area and on April 10 noticed a dog that resembled Partner being walked by a woman and a man.
Once they pulled up next to the dog, they knew it was Partner.
“Oh my goodness, poor thing,” Neil Haskett told Northern Life. “He was shaved almost completely bald. His head wasn't shaved and his tail wasn't shaved, but the rest of all of his long hair was completely shaved off.”
The couple walking Partner insisted the dog was theirs and said they had got the dog from a pet store.
Once police arrived on the scene, they were able to determine the dog was Partner after calling his veterinarian.
“It was a very emotional homecoming,” he said.
According to Northern Life, the woman was arrested on April 13 and charged with breaking and entering, as well as theft.
Police are still searching for the male seen in the video.
