Pull Up a Chair and Grab Your Popcorn: Another Outrageous Highlight Video of Idaho Republicans in Debate

“Can I say this? It sucks. It’s bondage. And I’m about as politically correct as your proverbial turd in a punch bowl.”

Idaho’s gubernatorial GOP primary debate featured Gov. Butch Otter, Tea Party challenger state Sen. Russ Fulcher, and then a couple of long-shot candidates: Harley Brown and Walt Bayes. And TheBlaze delved into many of the highlights.

But so stunning were the comments tossed off by Brown and Bayes that — you guessed it — another highlight reel of sorts has surfaced of Wednesday's proceedings.

“I don’t like political correctness,” Brown declared, looking sorta dapper in a tie and biker leathers. “Can I say this? It sucks. It’s bondage. And I’m about as politically correct as your proverbial turd in a punch bowl.”

A former Navy engineer, Brown noted one of his strategies for political engagement: “Here’s my plan of attack: you go in there and you use spiritual warfare. Everybody talks about the natural but I’m gonna talk about the other realm we exist in.”

Brown, who supports same-sex marriage, added: “I used to drive taxis in Boise for 20 years, at night, and I’ve picked up my fair share of the gay community and they have true love for one another. I’m telling you, they love each other more than I love my motorcycle.”

Bayes, a white-bearded candidate and father of 16, said he once went to jail for homeschooling his kids.

“I can stand up where these guys are falling down,” Bayes noted. “I don’t know how to put it but — how many of them have been to jail for what they believe?”

Bayes also read a passage of the Bible during the debate and got a bit hot under the collar after saying he shot a wolf while it was on the endangered species list: "I took the game wardens out and they picked up the shell!"
