Michael Bloomberg Snaps at CNN's Wolf Blitzer Over 'Insulting' Israel Question: 'It's an Outrage
July 23, 2014
"Don’t be ridiculous!"
Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg snapped at CNN’s Wolf Blitzer for asking if the FAA’s ban on U.S. flights to Israel could have been implemented for political reasons. Bloomberg traveled to Israel on Wednesday in protest of the FAA ban and to support the Jewish nation, but he took offense to Blitzer’s “insulting” question.
“Don’t be ridiculous! Why would you think that? It’s an outrage to accuse one of our agencies––by asking the question, you’re implying our government does things for political reasons, and maybe everyone once in a while they do it, but it’s your job to prove it,” Bloomberg lectured. “Just the allegation against our government, I personally take as an offense.”
He added that the “tone of the question, of trying to create dissension, it’s insulting to America.”
Bloomberg also called the Tel Aviv airport the world’s “most secure airport.”
