An Idaho city park lifted a key rule governing part of their facility Saturday — they allowed dogs to take a swim in their pool before draining the pool for the year.
Footage taken from the event, dubbed the "Pooch Party," shows dozens of dogs gleefully run into the pool and take a refreshing swim.
According to the Lakeview Park's website, the event has occurred annually since 2007 and started as a way to fundraise for a dog park. Registration was $30 and included a t-shirt and gift bag.
"Nampa's Pooch Party-Stroll & Splash began in 2007 as the Pooch Pool Party, a dog-only swimming event that provided funding for the Nampa Dog Park," the park said on their website. "During the event, dogs and their owners enjoyed hours of play at Lakeview pool."
Saturday's event, which organizers said attracted hundreds of dogs, also included several contests for owners to partake in with their pets.
