Your Blood Might Boil Watching Shameless Thugs Prey Upon Disabled Woman, but Her Inspiring Reaction Should Reverse Your Mood

“I just think that if they’ll target me, they’ll target anyone."

Carolyn and her husband often visit the Northgate Mall in Seattle where they sit together as she reviews Christian novels on her laptop and huddles with him to chat.

"He's kind and thoughtful and funny," Carolyn told KCPQ-TV.

Carolyn and her husband also have cerebral palsy and are confined to wheelchairs.

The couple were in the mall waiting for a bus back to their assisted living facility at about 7 p.m. Aug. 22 when she noticed a couple of "scary-looking” guys hovering nearby, eyeballing them.

“I didn’t want to engage them," Carolyn told KCPQ, noting the pair were making her feel uncomfortable.

Then surveillance video confirmed her fears.

As one guy stood by, the other approached Carolyn's wheelchair.

He then snatched her Samsung Nook tablet from the wheelchair tray it was sitting on and ran away.

“I was mostly angry because they scared me and made me feel unsafe,” she told the station later.

But rather than crying "woe is me," Carolyn told KCPQ she forgives the perps — and added something else: “I’m not gonna lie down and take it. I’m gonna fight back the best I can.”

One of those ways is letting others know to watch out for the pair who took advantage of her — because someone else could be next.

“I just think that if they’ll target me, they’ll target anyone," she told the station.

Fortunately, Carolyn had all of her work backed up — and her husband bought her a new tablet.
