Police Could Have Issued This Woman a Ticket, but Decided to Do Something Better

A Michigan woman who was pulled over Saturday discovered being confronted by police isn't always so bad after all.
When Emmett Township Police Officer Ben Smith stopped the woman he noticed there was a young girl in the back seat. The girl was only protected by a seatbelt and not a car seat. The woman explained to Smith that she understands the importance of child safety seats, but said she couldn't afford to buy one. That's when the officer went instructed her to pull into the nearby Walmart parking lot.
But it's what the officer did next that's so encouraging:
