Carnival Cruise chairman's unfortunately timed statement about Ebola and travel bookings

"We have seen no impact on our future bookings whatsoever."

News that a person who handled the Dallas Ebola victim's lab specimens was aboard a Carnival Cruise ship and in self-isolation broke early Friday morning.

Just two days before, David Dingle, the chairman of the company, appeared on CNBC and made a now-rather ironic statement.

While talking about the impact of Ebola on their future business, the Carnival chairman said: "We have seen no impact on our future bookings whatsoever."

CNBC tweeted the statement Wednesday night.
